It all began with the wind, the waves, and a Zebu’s Blessing

We discovered this wild bay in Madagascar from above-on a kite, flying over the reef and the white cliffs.

Then we reach Eden-like land with a machete, cutting our way through thorns and roots.

That's how everything started

The land was used by the local community for generations, but with no documents. We didn’t buy it – we asked for permission.

We offered a zebu in a traditional ceremony, with the village elders, so that the spirits of the ancestors would allow us to build.

Today, we operate 100% on solar energy, including water pumping and pool filtration, with zero connection to the national grid.

In a world forgotten by time, with no roads, no electricity, no running water  we built a fully autonomous resort.

We planted thousands of trees, palms, and tropical plants - on land that was originally dry and windswept. But we preserved everything we could: the sacred trees, natural formations, native vegetation. Nothing was flattened without reason. Nothing was rushed.

Built by Hand, Held Together by Heart

Every drop of concrete was poured by hand. In the beginning, things weren’t measured with meters – but with palms.

Construction materials are almost entirely absent in northern Madagascar. Often, we had to import everything. And we rebuilt some structures two or three times – because there is no trained local workforce.

Even the specialized companies – they say yes, but do otherwise. Today, we have over 60 Malagasy employees. Most live in the resort, in clean rooms with running water and electricity a rare standard in the surrounding villages. We had to teach them everything: how to clean glass, how to trim fingernails, how to maintain. They learned. They now come to us when their children get sick, when they have a problem, when they don’t know what to do.

We have no guards. Nothing has ever been stolen. The only thing we watch out for are the zebus roaming freely and eating the newly planted gardens.

We renovated the school in Akurikaheli. Women bring zebu milk. Fishermen come with their catch directly to the beach.

What we've built here is more than a resort. It's a community, a living ecosystem, and proof that it's possible - even at the end of the world
